Insights Series 3: Skilling in Sanitation

India Sanitation Coalition, IRC and TARU Leading Edge announce its third dialogue.

"Insights”, a knowledge series by FICCI led India Sanitation Coalition (ISC), IRC and Taru Leading Edge, has been co-designed to share new knowledge and facilitate partnerships in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector. These dialogues is held once every two months and documented with key findings and recommendations.

The objective of this session is to understand the significance of skilling workers in the sanitation sector. With growing demand for sustainable systems and implementation of SGDs, demand for skilled sanitation workers is on the rise. The need is to create a holistic approach for meeting the rising demand of skilled workforce. The session will be to inform and deliberate amongst policy makers, researchers and social and market practitioners and work towards a collaborative framework.

Webinar - Are India's Cities On the Road to Resilience?

India is in the midst of a ‘smart cities’ revolution. The ‘Smart Cities Mission’, a government-backed programme of urban renewal, is intended to make the country’s cities more liveable and sustainable. But how can this be achieved when the cities are facing a series of complex and interconnected challenges such as, explosive population growth, inadequate infrastructure, persistent poverty and climate change? How can India ensure that its cities are not just smart, but are also resilient?

Hosted by the Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN), the webinar will focus on TARU’s soon to be published, second volume of its Road to Resilience Handbook – a practical guide for resilience planning and implementation at the city level.

Speakers to include:

Dr. Umamaheshwaran Rajsekar, Director & Practice Head - Risk & Resilience, TARU Leading Edge| The context of India’s urban resilience challenge; and

GK Bhat, Chairperson, TARU Leading Edge | Lessons from practice: The Road to Resilience Vol. II

Insight Series 2, FSSM Matters: Looking Forward

India Sanitation Coalition, IRC and TARU Leading Edge announces its second dialogue.

"Insights”, a knowledge series by FICCI led India Sanitation Coalition (ISC), IRC and Taru Leading Edge, has been co-designed to share new knowledge and facilitate partnerships in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector. These dialogues is held once every two months and documented with key findings and recommendations.

The objective of this dialogue is to understand the significance of faecal sludge and septage management in the sanitation value change. With increasing advocacy around the issue, this session will be to inform and deliberate amongst policy makers, researchers and social and marketing practitioners and work towards a collaborative framework.
